Foundations of Acupuncture in Traditional Chinese Medicine A
Synopsis
By
Don Wetsel, MA, LAc, NCBTMB Diplomate
in Acupuncture (NCCAOM) Originally
conceived as a national board preparation text (Foundations of Chinese Medicine
and Acupuncture) for students at Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine,
this book has much broader applications and is a much-needed synopsis on
Acupuncture from a TCM perspective.
This
text provides excellent summary and review material for the Foundations of
Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture national boards. It provides a broad-based overview for those who want to
learn Traditional Chinese Medicine, but haven’t attended acupuncture school.
It also makes an excellent synopsis for those who are now in private
practice. If
you are new to TCM, you may need additional support to familiarize yourself with
the language of TCM. I found Maciocia’s: The Foundations of Chinese
Medicine to be the most readable of the foundations texts.
He gives you a way to think about TCM.
Even when I disagreed with his statements or I had a more complete
energetic understanding, his explanations were helpful to provide a basic
understanding of TCM. What Others Have Said What a
magnificent accomplishment. This is
very high quality work. The organization, sequencing and presentation is very
crisp. I
really apppreciate your input and encouragement, as well as the heroic effort of
putting together your book -- it's definitely the best thing out there.
